Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Uplands is a neighbourhood within City of Langley, British Columbia.

Transportation

Uplands is a fairly good part of City of Langley for moving around by car. Parking is quite easy. However, the public transit infrastructure in this neighbourhood is fairly poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually around the corner. Uplands is fairly conducive to bicycling. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not particularly well-suited for pedestrians since few daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

It is easy to get to the nearest supermarket as a pedestrian from any home in Uplands. In addition, this part of City of Langley is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and house buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. It is also a reasonably short walk to a good variety of clothing stores. With regards to education, schools and daycares are straightforward to access without the use of a car from most homes for sale in this area.

Character

Uplands offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, most locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, such as Langley City Park and Uplands Dog Off-Leash Park, since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to visit.

Housing

The majority of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Uplands, while duplexes are the main alternative in the housing stock. Most of the homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 2000s. This area also has a choice of housing sizes; this part of the city is especially good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Around 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented.
