The neighbourhood of Central Yarrow is part of the city of Chilliwack, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Chilliwack metropolitan area.

Transportation

Central Yarrow is an extremely good part of Chilliwack for driving. Parking is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit infrastructure in Central Yarrow is rather poor. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes. This part of the city is moderately cycling-friendly. This neighbourhood is not very convenient for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians because running common errands is challenging without a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools are straightforward to access without a vehicle from anywhere in this area. In contrast, there are no high schools in Central Yarrow. With respect to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries. A limited number of restaurants are available in this part of the city.

Character

Central Yarrow offers a calm atmosphere. Most areas in Central Yarrow are very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Parks aren't well-distributed, which makes them very difficult to reach from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to explore, including Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.

Housing

About one third of properties in Central Yarrow were built pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing almost all dwellings in this part of Chilliwack, and the rest of the homes are mainly duplexes.
