The neighbourhood of Westridge can be found in the city of Burnaby, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

This neighbourhood allows property owners to get around by several means of transportation. Driving is a fairly good transportation option in Westridge. It is convenient to access a parking spot. Westridge is also a fairly pleasant part of Burnaby for travelling by public transit. In particular, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and the nearest bus stop is typically around the corner. It is occasionally challenging for pedestrians to navigate this part of Burnaby because few common errands can be run without a vehicle. In contrast, Westridge is rather suited for cycling as the bicycling network is moderately comprehensive.

Services

It is easy to get to the closest grocery store on foot in Westridge. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a small variety of cafes is available as well. Regarding education, it is a short stroll to access primary schools and daycares from anywhere in Westridge. In contrast, it can be challenging to reach high schools as a pedestrian.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Westridge. It is very easy to get to parks from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This part of the city is relatively quiet, due to the presence of few people out and about on the streets; however there can be higher levels of noise for those who are near the railway line or the airport (Vancouver / Burnaby (Terminal) Heliport).

Housing

Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 40% are renters. In this area, roughly one third of dwellings are single detached homes, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. This part of Burnaby did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new buildings in Westridge was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
