Belmont

Belmont is a neighbourhood within Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Belmont is very car friendly. Nearby highways are rather easy to reach from any home in Belmont, and it is convenient to come across a place to park. However, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there is Clareview Station with access to the Capital Line. There are approximately 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. Belmont is cycling-friendly since the cycling network is well-developed, and riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain. However, walking in this part of Edmonton is not very popular, even though many daily errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

It is usually practical for home buyers in Belmont to buy their groceries by walking. Additionally, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and a small variety of cafes is available as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will value that wherever their house is located in this area, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Belmont is a reasonably good option. Belmont is great for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. However, there are approximately 20 green spaces close by for residents to discover, like Kennedale Ravine Park and Sifton Park, and they are very well-spread out, making them very easy to reach. Finally, even though the atmosphere is not the liveliest in this area with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing around one third of dwellings in Belmont, and the remaining properties are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the dwellings in Belmont and one third are rented. About 45% of homes in this part of the city were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s and the 2000s.
