Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, The Village is a neighbourhood within Airdrie, Alberta.

Transportation

The Village will appeal to home buyers who value being in a community that's walkable as it is reasonably geared to walking; carrying out daily needs is convenient without a vehicle. Bicycling is also convenient in the Village as this part of Airdrie boasts fairly good bicycling infrastructure. Cars are a great means of transportation in this area. It is a short drive to the closest highway from any location in the Village, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. On the other hand, the public transit infrastructure in this part of the city is rather limited. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes.

Services

The closest supermarket in this part of Airdrie is usually only a short distance away. In addition, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, and property owners are served by a few cafes as well. House buyers benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. When it comes to education, families will appreciate that no matter where their home is located in this part of Airdrie, schools and daycares are nearby.

The Village is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. The Village is especially quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

In the Village, many dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood experienced its largest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About two thirds of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one third are rented.
