Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured way to navigate Legacy. The majority of real estate listings are a rather short drive from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in this part of Calgary. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. Bicycling is easy in Legacy because there are not many hills to confront bike riders, and there are a good number of bike lanes. Most houses for sale in this part of Calgary are located in areas that are not very convenient for those who prefer to get around by walking since very few daily needs can be met without a vehicle.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is required in Legacy to reach the nearest supermarket. There are also a few choices for those who care about restaurants in close proximity. Concerning education, in Legacy, parents and their children will typically be able to access high schools without the need to get in a car. However, this neighbourhood does not have any primary schools.

Character

People who prefer a calm atmosphere will enjoy Legacy. Most areas in this part of Calgary are very quiet, as the streets are usually very tranquil. Finally, there are approximately 30 parks nearby for residents to explore and they are very well-distributed, which makes them easy to access from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

In Legacy, around 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood and one quarter are rented. This part of the city experienced its most significant building boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period.
