Located within the Grande Prairie metropolitan area, Avondale is a neighbourhood in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Transportation

It is easy for pedestrians to move around in this neighbourhood; many day-to-day errands can be run without needing a car, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. Active property owners will also enjoy the reasonably bike-friendly nature of this part of the city. More precisely, there are not many elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and Avondale features fairly good bicycling infrastructure. Driving is a great medium of transportation in this area. It is easy to come across a place to park, and it is a short car ride to the nearest highway from any location in Avondale. On the other hand, Avondale is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most homes.
