The neighbourhood of Westridge can be found in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best way to navigate this part of Edmonton is usually a car. Many real estate listings are a short drive from the nearest highway, and it is very easy to park. However, the public transit service in Westridge is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are around 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and it is easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Riding a bike is prevalent in this part of Edmonton as the bicycling infrastructure is fairly comprehensive. In contrast, there are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the city, even though many common errands can be run without the need for a car.

Services

Property owners in Westridge will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a long walk away. Moreover, there is typically a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. With regards to education, parents and their kids will welcome that wherever their house is situated in Westridge, daycares are nearby. However, there are only a few high schools in Westridge and consequently they can be a rather long walk away. In addition, this part of Edmonton does not have any primary schools.

Character

Westridge is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this part of the city. Westridge is very quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. On the other hand, it is very easy to reach public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to check out. Lastly, even though this part of the city is not known for its vibrancy, with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very difficult to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very far.

Housing

Homeowners occupy nearly all of the dwellings in Westridge whereas the rest are rented. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. This area experienced its main building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this era. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
