Hawks Ridge

The neighbourhood of Hawks Ridge can be found in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in Hawks Ridge. It is very easy to access a parking spot, and it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from any location in this part of Edmonton. Hawks Ridge is not very amenable to bicycling since there are few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave. Getting around by foot is also not very practical for home buyers in this part of Edmonton as running common errands is very inconvenient without the use of a vehicle.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to buy groceries. Concerning education, this neighbourhood does not contain any high schools or primary schools. In addition, there are only a very small number of daycares and consequently they can be a very long trip away.

Character

The character of Hawks Ridge is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Hawks Ridge is great for those who like quiet areas, as the streets are very tranquil. Parks aren't well-distributed, resulting in them being rather difficult to access from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood. Despite that, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Hawks Ridge is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. Most of the houses available in the housing market in this part of Edmonton were constructed following the year 2000, when most of the housing growth occurred.
