Greenview is a neighbourhood within Edmonton, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in Greenview. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways are easy to access from any home in this part of the city. In contrast, getting around by transit can be sometimes challenging in this area by reason of the low service level. Thankfully, residents are served by about 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Greenview is moderately bicycling-friendly since there are a good number of bike lanes. On the other hand, there are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Greenview, even though many daily needs are convenient to meet without a vehicle.

Services

Families will welcome that no matter where their home is located in this neighbourhood, daycares and primary schools are nearby. In contrast, it can be difficult to walk to high schools from homes for sale in Greenview. In terms of eating, it is rarely an option for house buyers in this area to purchase their groceries on foot. Likewise, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a fair number of choices, and property owners are served by a few cafes as well.

Character

Greenview offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Most areas in this neighbourhood are especially quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Finally, green spaces, such as Hillview Park and Greenview Park, are very well-situated and there are about 20 of them nearby for residents to visit, which makes it very easy to get to them.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about two thirds of dwellings in Greenview, and the rest of the homes are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 80% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. Most housing in this area was built between 1960 and 1980, during its largest construction boom.
