Ebbers

The neighbourhood of Ebbers can be found in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the favoured way to get around in Ebbers. The majority of houses for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, commuting by transit can be at times challenging in this area due to the infrequent service. Thankfully, there is Clareview Station on the Capital Line. Residents are served by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily very close by. Bicycling is easy in this area because Ebbers is home to fairly good bicycling infrastructure, and there are a limited number of hills for cyclists to brave. In contrast, traveling on foot is not very common in this area, even though many daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

Parents and their kids will value that wherever their home is situated in Ebbers, daycares are close by. However, there are only a very small number of high schools in Ebbers and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, Ebbers does not have any primary schools. As far as food is concerned, it is especially easy to get to the closest supermarket without a car in this area. Likewise, Ebbers is a good place in which to eat out, and home buyers benefit from a few cafes as well. It is also a reasonably short distance to a decent selection of clothing stores.

Character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Ebbers is a good option. Even though the ambience is not the most lively in this part of Edmonton with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Ebbers is reasonably good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as the streets are quite calm. Public green spaces, such as Brintnell Park and Miller Park, are especially well-distributed and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes it easy to access them.

Housing

About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 45% of dwellings in this neighbourhood, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this area has happened following the year 2000. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
