Downtown

The neighbourhood of Downtown Edmonton can be found in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Downtown will appeal to property owners that appreciate different modes of transportation. Downtown features excellent transit. More specifically, rapid transit stations, such as Bay Enterprise Square Station, Churchill Station and Central Station with access to the Metro Line and Capital Line, are commonly very close by from the majority of homes in the neighbourhood. Homeowners are served by approximately 30 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. It is also very easy for people travelling on foot to get around in Downtown; running daily errands is very convenient without the need for a car, and numerous businesses are reasonably close at hand. Cycling is adopted in Downtown since the bicycling network is very well-developed, and there are few slopes in much of the terrain to challenge cyclists.

Services

Parents and their kids will welcome the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from all properties for sale in Downtown. When it comes to food, it is very often feasible for home buyers in Downtown to buy general and specialty groceries without the need for a vehicle. In addition, owing to over 200 restaurants and around 30 coffee shops, Downtown is a great place in which to go out to eat. It is also very easy to access a number of clothing stores as a pedestrian.

Housing

The homes in this area are relatively new, since roughly 40% of its dwellings were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this part of Edmonton is an important part of its character.
