Silverado

Situated within the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Silverado is a neighbourhood in Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

The best transportation option in this area is usually a car. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and nearby highways are moderately easy to reach from any home in Silverado. On the other hand, Silverado is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, residents profit from Somerset - Bridlewood Station on the Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain. There are approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are usually very close by. Silverado is not particularly cycling-friendly because there are a good number of hills to challenge cyclists. Thankfully, the bicycling network is moderately extensive. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Calgary are located in areas that are also not very convenient for people who like to get around by walking since most daily needs are inconvenient to carry out without a vehicle.

Services

It is often possible for house buyers in Silverado to buy their groceries by walking. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. As far as education is concerned, daycares and schools are easy to get to by foot from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood.

Character

The character of Silverado is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. This part of the city is very quiet, as the streets are generally very calm. Lastly, parks, including Bridlewood Wetlands, are very well-situated and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to visit, which makes them easy to reach from many locations in Silverado.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Silverado is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters.
