Marlborough

Part of the Greater Calgary metropolitan area, Marlborough is a neighbourhood within Calgary, Alberta.

Transportation

This part of the city enables house buyers to move around using a variety of means of transportation. Marlborough is home to a fairly good public transit network. In particular, it is convenient to find a nearby rapid transit station, such as Rundle Station and Marlborough Station with access to the Blue Line - Saddletowne/69 Street CTrain, from the bulk of houses in the neighbourhood. There are around 20 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. Marlborough is also fairly well-suited for pedestrians; many daily needs can be met without needing a car, and a variety of businesses are moderately close at hand. The bike is a reasonably good method of transportation in this part of the city because there are few hills to confront cyclists.

Services

In Marlborough, parents and their children will typically be able to access daycares and schools as pedestrians. As far as food is concerned, it is usually feasible for property owners in Marlborough to do groceries by walking. Additionally, there is typically a restaurant or cafe just around the corner, for instance along 36 Street North-east. It is also a rather short trip to a reasonable selection of clothing stores.

Character

Marlborough is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the ambience of this area. Even though the ambience is not the liveliest in this part of the city with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located close by. Marlborough is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. It is very easy to get to parks in the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

In Marlborough, many dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. This area experienced its biggest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available homes are from this time period.
