Jarry Park

Jarry Park is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Jarry Park affords house buyers several alternative means of transportation. This part of the city will appeal to home buyers who appreciate being able to walk everywhere because it is particularly walkable; most day-to-day needs can be carried out without a vehicle, and numerous businesses are fairly close by. Countless residents in the area use their bike since the cycling network is reasonably good, and bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain. Jarry Park has great transit owing to many nearby rapid transit stations on the Ligne 2 - Orange and Ligne 5 - Bleue, and approximately 30 nearby bus lines. Jarry Park is also a fairly convenient part of Montréal for moving around by car. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute Métropolitaine, are very easy to reach from any home in Jarry Park.

Services

It is a very short stroll to reach daycares and schools from any location in this area. Regarding eating, it is especially convenient to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in Jarry Park. Over 100 supermarkets are located in the area, and the best selection can be found on streets such as Rue De Castelnau. Additionally, thanks to over 200 restaurants and about 20 cafes, Jarry Park is a very good place in which to eat out. It is also a very short trip to a great variety of clothing stores.

Character

Jarry Park has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Jarry Park is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be quite calm, although that is not the case closer to the railway line or Autoroute Métropolitaine. The greenery in this part of the city is prominent as the majority of streets have reasonably good tree coverage. Parks, like Parc du Boisé-de-Saint-Sulpice and Parc Jarry, are especially well-spread out and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in, resulting in them being very easy to get to from a large number of locations in the neighbourhood. Finally, finding things to do in this area is very easy. Despite the fact that there is a limited selection of entertainment venues, the streets are almost always busy with people, and with its approximately 30 bars, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very close by.

Housing

Renters occupy roughly two thirds of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the rest are occupied by owners. The predominance of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. This part of the city experienced its largest building boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
