Situated in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Centre-Sud is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

No matter the medium of transportation, it is very straightforward to get around in Centre-Sud. This part of Montréal is very transit friendly as a result of various nearby rapid transit stations on the Ligne 4 - Jaune, Ligne 1 - Verte and Ligne 2 - Orange, and approximately 50 nearby bus lines. This part of Montréal will also attract people who want to reside in a walkable area as it is very conducive to pedestrians; most daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are rather close by. Centre-Sud will appeal to active house buyers since it is very suitable for bicycling. For instance, there are a good number of bike lanes, there are few slopes to confront cyclists, and bike-share stations are seldomly more than a short distance away.

Services

Daycares and schools are straightforward to reach without a car from most homes for sale in this neighbourhood. With respect to eating, both general and specialty grocery stores are typically accessible within a very short trip from anywhere in this part of the city. Rue Sainte-Catherine is among the best streets for groceries. Character

Centre-Sud has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. There are a very large number of things to do in this neighbourhood to visit. There are often a very large number of people around, there is a vast selection of entertainment venues, and finding one of the over 50 bars is very easy since they are generally located around the corner. Centre-Sud is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be reasonably peaceful, however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to Autoroute Ville-Marie or one of the railway lines. There is a fair amount of greenery in this area; it is very easy to access public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are over 100 of them close by for residents to check out. Residents will also find that most streets have good tree coverage.

Housing

About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and the remainder are owners. The substantial percentage of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of this part of the city is an important part of its character. The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, because around 40% of its dwellings were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
